We are dedicated to the health, temperament, and standard of the breed, ensuring every puppy is DNA-certified, well-socialized, and ready to become a beloved member of your family. Below, you will find answers to some of the most common questions about our breeding program, available puppies, and rescue services.
What breed of dogs do you specialize in?
We specialize exclusively in breeding, showing, and rescuing AKC Miniature Schnauzers. We are dedicated to breeding to the AKC Standard which includes DNA to parents to prevent genetically transferred disease and to maintain the structure and personality of the breed.
Where is Findell Kennels & Steppenwolf Rescue located?
We operate bi-coastally to serve a wider community of dog lovers! We have kennel locations in both Fresno, California, and Malvern, Arkansas.
Are your Miniature Schnauzer puppies AKC registered?
Yes, absolutely. We have been breeding and showing purebred dogs for over 40 years. All of our dogs are strictly bred to the AKC Standard to ensure the highest quality bloodlines.
Do you perform health testing on your breeding dogs?
Health is our top priority. Every parent dog is DNA-certified and cleared for genetic disorders. Additionally, our parents receive annual health, heart, and optical (eye-health) checks from our veterinarian and veterinary ophthalmologist.
How can I see the Miniature Schnauzer puppies you currently have for sale?
You can view photos, details, and the reservation status of our current litters directly on our Available Puppies page.
Do you breed "teacup" or toy Miniature Schnauzers?
No, we do not. There is no such thing as a “teacup” Miniature Schnauzer in the official breed standard. We do not breed mixed breeds, non-standard colors, or odd sizes. We strictly breed healthy, AKC Miniature Schnauzers.
How often do you have Miniature Schnauzer puppies available?
We focus on quality over quantity, typically having two carefully planned litters a year to ensure our mother dogs remain healthy and our Healthy Miniature Schnauzer Puppies receive the utmost care and socialization.
What is included when I purchase a puppy from Findell Kennels?
Our puppies come with a genetic health guarantee. Before going to their new homes, they are thoroughly vet-checked, microchipped, given their initial vaccinations, and lovingly socialized. We also offer lifetime support and expert training advice to our puppy families.
Do you deliver puppies outside of Arkansas and California?
Yes! We offer local pickup in Fresno, CA, and doorstep delivery in Malvern, AR. However, we also serve families across the Mid-West (including Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee), up the New England Coast, and even Central America.
What is Steppenwolf Rescue?
Steppenwolf Rescue is our compassionate rescue and adoption branch. We are dedicated to rehabilitating, training, spaying/neutering, and rehoming Miniature Schnauzers across the Mid-West and California so they can find their perfect forever homes.
Do you offer dog obedience training?
Yes, we do. As active participants in AKC obedience events and qualified judges, we offer both group and private basic obedience instruction in Malvern and Fresno to help perfect your dog’s manners.
How do I reserve a Miniature Schnauzer puppy?
You can reserve your next companion by emailing us at regenranch@aol.com with “Puppy Reservation” in the subject line, calling or texting us at (501) 672-1858 for real-time availability, or by filling out the online contact form on our website.
What colors of Miniature Schnauzers do you breed?
We breed classic, breed-standard colors, such as solid Black and Black & Silver, and Salt/Pepper which are well-represented by our champion dams and studs.
How big do AKC Standard Miniature Schnauzers get?
Fully grown Miniature Schnauzers typically reach about 12–14 inches tall at the shoulder and weigh between 11–20 pounds. Their compact and sturdy size makes them highly adaptable.
Do your dogs come from champion bloodlines?
Yes! Our dogs boast an impressive pedigree. We have shown our dogs in AKC obedience, FCI shows for International Championships, and have even trained and titled dogs in the international sport of Schutzhund.
Are Miniature Schnauzers good for apartment living?
Absolutely. Because of their compact 11-20 pound size and adaptable nature, they make ideal companions for both city apartments in California and sprawling suburban homes in Arkansas.
Can I adopt an older, trained Miniature Schnauzer instead of a puppy?
Yes. Through Steppenwolf Rescue, we often have adult dogs available for adoption. These rescue companions are spayed or neutered, vet-checked, microchipped, trained, and ready for you to love.
What is the background of Findell Kennels & Steppenwolf Rescue?
We were founded in the 1970s in San Diego, California. We began with a partnership with PAWS and expanded into rescue work before focusing our decades of expertise exclusively on breeding and advocating for AKC Miniature Schnauzers.
